In case you are curious of what we are doing...Below is a list of commonly asked questions and appointment policies at our shop.

Where are you based? When did you start?

We are a Hong Kong based bridal salon. After being a bridal pop-up shop for almost a year, we have decided to have a permanent shop starting in July 2018. 

Where are you located?

Our shop is located at the 9/F of Lee Man Commercial Building on 105-107 Bonham Strand in Sheung Wan. It is within 3-5 minutes walking distance from Sheung Wan MTR station. (Sheung Wan A2 exit) 

Do you do rental or purchase of dresses only?

We provide both services. Only selected dresses are available for rental, this applies to Hong Kong weddings and Hong Kong & Destinations engagement shoots (within 14 days) ONLY. Currently we are accepting rental dates up until end of 2019.

We also offer boudoir styling & rental package. This is a custom package that is perfect for brides who are doing indoor boudoir shooting for 2-4 hours only. A wide range of robes, veils, bridal accessories and dresses are available for rental and we will work within your budget to customize a package for you.

When would be the best time to come if I need to order a dress?

Purchase order usually takes min 6-8 months depending on the designers/brands. We suggest coming at least 8-10 months ahead to be safe for making your dress order in case alternations is required once the dress arrived. Rush order is available with additional cost. Contact us if you are in "emergencies"!!



Is your appointment free?

Our first fitting appointment is free. We will guide you through on finding the styles that suit you the best during your first appointment. Most brides would confirm or at the very least have an idea of what they are looking for during this appointment.

We ask for hkd$3,000 for follow-up (second) visit appointment. The fee will be waived if you confirm our service at the shop. Note there will be no refund/redeem once you leave the shop without confirmation on our services.

The reason we ask for a fee is to make sure brides who come to our shop again are having a good intention of confirming our services. We understand this might be a lot to ask for but would also like to protect the shop's sample dresses as we are a small business with limited slots for taking appointments.

Open hours for dress preview 

As we are charging for second visit we understand some brides would like to look at new dresses prior confirming our services. We are going to have an "Open Hours" on every Wednesdays 6-8pm (except Public Holiday) for brides to walkin and check out our dresses before booking your first/second appointment with us. We try our best to accommodate all your requests and hope this would be a better way to have a look of our dress collection. 

*note you will not be able to try on dresses for "Open Hours"

Is appointment required?

Appointment is required and submitted through the booking page, then confirmed via whatsapp/email by staff. We accept appointments Tuesday - Sunday. Please contact us for availability during off business hours.

What should I prepare prior coming to the appointment? 

Please bring a strapless bra and wear nude undergarments for fitting. A pair of shoes that you are planning to wear on your wedding day or in similar height will also be helpful.

How many dresses can I try on?

First bridal consultation is 60 minutes and this will allow you to try up to 5 dresses. Follow-up appointments are also 60 minutes and allow you to re-try and visit the 2-3 styles you are considering for dress purchase order. 

How many guests can I bring to my appointment?

Due to our limited space at shop, we request that you bring a small party with 3 close family friends maximum. Bring the people who understand your style and you value their opinion the most. We try not to get you overwhelmed with different opinion and stay true to yourself when picking THE dress.

Also please note that pets will not be allowed inside the shop.

When should I arrive to my appointment?

Please come no more than 5-10 minutes prior to your appointment time. Should you or your party arrive early, please wait at our reception bar until we escort you to the dress area.

Are photos allowed inside the shop?

You may take as many photos as you want at the reception bar area, or even tag us #thewedgenie! Once you reach our dress collection area, NO PHOTOS are allowed. A cctv is installed in shop so we'd know if you've done it or not. We are all adults and we believe you can respect our shop's policies. If we find out you've taken photos without permission, we will kindly ask you to delete it and leave our shop. 

We know sometimes you might need a photo or two, if you ask nicely we will provide photos towards the end of the appointment. Please make sure your party is also fully aware of the NO PHOTOS policy. We promise it'd be a fun and enjoyable experience with us if you follow our shop's policies.

What are the prices of the dresses?

Our designer collection ranges from just HKD$4,200 up to $60,000. The majority of our selection falls under $30,000. For rental it's from $6,500 up to $15,000 each.

What sizes are your sample dresses?

We stock mostly US size 2-6 depending on the designers/brands. As for vintage clothing, they are from XXS to L.

If I choose my dress, how does payment work?

We ask for 80% at the time of purchase and the remainder when you pick up your dress. We accept cash, bank transfer or cashier checks.
